ABOUT THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCIES
Dianna David and her Faculty of Freshness teach movement storytelling for levels K-12, specializing in physical theatre, street dance, prop-manipulation, creative leadership and voice empowerment.
Students learn invigorating ways to stretch their body coordination, stimulate their imagination and encourage deeper self-awareness through body language and the emotions that support expressing their best self.
The 45min - 1.5 hr PlayShops work within the same themes - but by having a 3-5 Day Residency, DiANNA and her team will have the time, energy, and ability to dig in deep.
At the end of the residency, there will be a powerful ending presentation.
PROCESS OF LEARNING:
We feel it's important to have fun and inspire youth to realize everyone is a creator and contributor to the spaces they bring themselves to.
Through our 4-Stages of Learning: "The 4-P’S: PLAY • PRACTICE • PERFORM • PERSEVERE", we show them the beauty of opening our creativity, working through ideas through repetition & refinement, how to present our concepts to the best of our ability, as well as continuing resilience in the pursuit of our dreams.
This perpetuates confident, curious, creators that are in constant contribution to their own self-esteem, and an inspiration to others they come in contact with in their lives.
